Personal Information
Mary Richards

I was raised in the Seattle and graduated from the University of Washington where I met my husband Jerry who was raised in Indianola. Upon introducing me to his hometown, my first question was “You grew up here? How lucky for you!” In 1988, we moved to Indianola and built the home where we raised our family and continue to live today. My kids were fortunate to experience the same beach and small-town life that my husband did --swimming, boating, crabbing and playing on the beach. They attended our local public schools, are onto successful careers in medicine and both hope to move back here someday to raise their families.
In 1991, I started an espresso catering business, the first of its kind in Kitsap County. I catered large events from rock concerts to all-breed dog shows. I loved it! In 2005, I began my real estate career with Windermere Real Estate and sold my catering business after over 17 years of ownership and operation.
Real estate is a perfect career for me. Not only do I enjoy sharing how wonderful Kitsap County is, from its beauty and quiet-living to its outdoor activities and close proximity to Seattle, I truly love working with homebuyers and sellers, guiding them through the selling/purchasing process.

I am a great listener and communicator and will take the time to insure you understand every step of the process and are guided in making the important decisions in buying and selling your home. When you choose to work with me, I will be there for you.

When I am not working to help you sell your home or helping you find your dream home I enjoy volunteering for our local blood drives and food kitchens and getting outside to take advantage everything this county has to offer. My passions are boating, hiking, biking, gardening, traveling, photography and cooking (especially baking pies!)

After 17 years specializing in waterfront and water view real estate, I’ve retired from active real estate sales. But I’m still available to help you locate the best real estate broker to help you outside the area that my business partner Mary Richards covers.

I’ll also be working in the background with Mary when my experience can be of value. My wife and I live in a home we helped design and build on Hood Canal near Port Ludlow. Owning waterfront property gives me ongoing experience with the issues unique to waterfront like bank stability, setbacks, and erosion protection.
In my expanded spare time, when I'm not sailing, I plan to be playing my trombone in the Port Townsend Community Orchestra or a local big band, or helping out at the Poulsbo Historical Society, where I am a board member.
